The A+ Hardware Course And What It Consists OfIn today's business environment the role of the computer technician is very significant, and offers endless employment possibilities. One can become a professional computer technician by doing an A+ hardware course. The A+ Hardware course is specially designed to make you understand the whole range of various parts of computer maintenance and repair. This A+ hardware course requires one to pass the A+ core hardware exam which falls under the CompTIA A+ certification. CompTIA A+ certification is one of the most renowned certifications. It exhibits your competency as a computer technician. The A+ certification exams can be divided into two versions, 2003 objectives & 2006 objectives, both of which are broken down into 2 individual exams. An essential point to be noted here is that the 2003 objectives exam has been retired since June 30, 2007 in United States. However, in some countries there is a grace period till December 2007 end. This is the 1st of the two courses of CompTIA A+ certification. Its syllabus is divided into total of 21 lessons. Here is the brief intro of all these lessons. 1st lesson is basic electronics. It mainly includes electricity, alternating current and direct current, use of multimeter and electrical safety. 2nd lesson deals in computer safety & work habits. Disposal of computer parts & components is covered in this topic. Next one deals in ergonomics along with tools and preventive maintenance. The 4th lesson includes field replaceable units, common problems, and flowcharts. Next lesson teaches you about different aspects of computer cases. The 6th one provides you with the training on handling of motherboards such as their evolution, removal, replacement and ways to troubleshoot. In the 7th lesson you will learn what is a CPU, what its physical types are, processor levels, etc. Memory and its different attributes is the sole topic which is dealt with in the 8th lesson. Power supplies and UPS are discussed descriptively in lesson number 9. Lesson 10 includes the floppy drive, its configuration, components, use and interface. Lesson 11 and 12 include all the aspects of hard drive and CD-ROM, respectively.
